Nebraska City Station

Nebraska City 1 & 2 summer 09 - jpg

Nebraska City Station, located 5 miles south of Nebraska City in Otoe County, entered service in May 1979. The coal-fired facility has a current capacity of 648 MW.  Along with Fort Calhoun, Nebraska City Station was built by OPPD to keep ahead of growth projected for the 1970s and 1980s. Nearby stands Nebraska City 2, the 682-megawatt generating unit that began commercial production of electricity in May 2009.
