Elk City Station

  Elk City Station

The Elk City Station, which began service in 2002, is a 6.2 MW facility whose fuel source is methane gas from landfill. The facility will be capable of producing electricity from landfill gas for a minimum of 20 years. Waste Management operates the plant and sells the power to OPPD, which owns the plant assets. Energy goes directly into OPPD's grid through the distribution system.
