Several female OPPD employees spent much of the day June 26 digging and moving dirt, and cutting and hanging siding for a Habitat house in north Omaha, despite temperatures in the mid-90s.
The project is an effort of Habitat Women Build, an all-woman coalition that builds homes in partnership with hardworking, low-income families.
Women Build volunteers are working on the house, located at 28th and Manderson Street, on Fridays and Saturdays this summer until the house is complete.
