Project Greenflick

Project GreenFlick is a video contest in which high school students produce short, creative films around energy efficiency topics. The winning film could receive up to $1,000!

Follow these steps below and start creating your film today! Don’t forget to review the official rules, too. All videos must be submitted by Oct. 27.

Step 1 – Pick a Category

  • Vampire Power
  • Energy-Efficient Lighting (for the home or the holidays)
  • OPPD’s Roadmap to Energy Savings
  • Tree Planting for Energy Savings
  • Click here for educational resources on each topic

Step 2 – Create Your Video   (as a group or individual)

  • Videos must be 30 seconds or less
  • Must include the OPPD logo at the beginning or end of the video

    • png image for download
  • Don’t forget to read the official rules
  • Get inspired! Click here to view past entries

Step 3 – Submit Your Video

  • Visit OPPD’s Facebook page and follow the prompts to submit your video
  • Must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 27

Step 4 – Vote

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be decided by a panel of judges based on creativity, educational value, relevance to the topic and proper use of the OPPD logo (prizes range from $1,000 to $250)
  • In addition, the video with the most votes on Facebook will win the People’s Choice award and $250
  • Share your video on Facebook to garner the most votes
  • Voting begins Oct. 28 and ends Nov. 4
  • Winners will be announced in November 2014

Prizes Include

1st Place: $1,000*
2nd Place: $500*
3rd Place: $250*
People’s Choice Award (video with the most votes on Facebook): $250*

*All prize money will be split with half going to the school and the other half to the student(s) who created the video. Ten honorable mentions will also receive certificates of recognition
