Fred Ulrich brings an agricultural perspective to the Omaha Public Power District. He has held every position on the board at least once. Mr. Ulrich is a farmer and cattle feeder based out of Louisville, Nebraska. He was first elected to the board in 1986, then re-elected in 1992, 1998, 2004 and 2010.
Mr. Ulrich’s affiliations include:

- American Legion
- Knights of Columbus
- 4-H leader for the Bridle and Saddle 4-H Club
His past roles include Cass County Planning and Zoning Commission member and Parish Council of the Church of the Holy Spirit. Mr. Ulrich was selected as the Jaycee Farmer of the Year (1982) and the recipient of the Young Farmer Conservation Award from the Lower Platte South Natural Resource District and Lincoln Chamber of Commerce (1983).
Mr. Ulrich has previously served as Chairman of the OPPD Board of Directors, Vice Chair as well as Treasurer and Secretary. He has a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Mr. Ulrich’s wife of 40 years, Diane, is an English teacher at Plattsmouth High School. They are the proud parents of four, with nine grandchildren.
