Operations
Dale Widoe began his OPPD career in 1974 as an engineer in the Production Operations Division. He served as test engineer from 1974 to 1976, production operations engineer from 1976 to 1977 and supervisor of Operations at Nebraska City Station from 1977 to 1984. He was manager of Nebraska City Station from 1984 to 1997, when he was named division manager of Production Operations.
Mr. Widoe was promoted to vice president in April 1999 and now oversees Operations, which includes Production Operations, Production Engineering & Technical Support, Projects & Construction, Energy Marketing & Trading, Fuels, Environmental & Regulatory Affairs, Transmission & Distribution Operations, Engineering and System Planning & Work Management.
He currently serves on the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He has served on the Metropolitan YMCA Board, Electric Power Research Institute Generation Council and the Fossil Plant Task Force, was chairman of the Fossil Plant Performance Program Committee from 1993 to 1995, and served as a member of the Nebraska City School Board from 1992 to 1996.
Mr. Widoe holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and has completed postgraduate studies at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the University of Michigan.
