Chief Financial Officer
Edward E. Easterlin joined OPPD in January 2009 after being appointed to the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in November 2008. He oversees Corporate Auditing, Finance, Corporate Accounting, Business Planning & Analysis, and Enterprise Risk Management.
Before coming to OPPD, Mr. Easterlin worked seven years for Colorado Springs Utilities, where he had served as Chief Planning and Finance Officer since May 2005. He also had served as General Manager of Financial Services and General Manager of Financial and Accounting Management.
Mr. Easterlin’s experience spans 32 years in the utility business, including more than two decades of increasing financial responsibility and nearly 9 years in operations.
He served for nearly 20 years at South Carolina Public Service Authority, Santee Cooper, producer of about 40 percent of the electricity generated in South Carolina. Previously, he was a Nuclear Chemistry Specialist for three years at Duke Power Company.
Mr. Easterlin serves as an at-large State Board Member for Community Health Charities of Nebraska and Chairman of the American Public Power Association (APPA) General Accounting, Finance, and Audit Committee.
Mr. Easterlin holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in business administration from Charleston Southern University. In addition, he holds an associate’s degree in chemical and nuclear engineering from Trident Technical College. He is a 2010 graduate of the Reactor Technology Course for Utility Executives at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering and the National Academy for Nuclear Training.
He and his wife, Ann, have two children.
