Nebraska City 2 Plant

  NC2 Artist's Rendering

Nebraska City 2 is the 682-megawatt generating unit adjacent to OPPD's Nebraska City Station unit 1. The NC2 unit began commercial production of electricity by May of 2009.

OPPD will use half of the output from Nebraska City 2 for its customer's needs while the remaining half will be used by seven other public power entities who are participating in the project. Those seven participants are Nebraska Public Power District, Nebraska City Utilities, Falls City Utilities, City of Grand Island Utilities Department, City of Independence (Missouri) Power & Light, Missouri Joint Electric Utility Commission, and Central Minnesota Municipal Power Agency.
