Team A71
February Report
On our car we were working on putting new side windows on because our old ones were scratched and scuffed. We were also working on a stationary steering column. This month we are working on installing a brake system and testing different rims. We are also in the middle of ordering a new motor and batteries for our car.
We made a little extra money by doing some fundraising. We made and sold Valentines cookies. We also had a soup supper to make a few extra dollars to purchase our expensive products.
January Report
This is a car we started last year, but never competed with. We are making many modifications to the vechicle. The frame was short and the braking never worked for us. We have been spending most of our time working on installing pedals to make it easier to brake and steer. We need to address the frame of the car yet and make sure it will work for us.
We need to improve the steering in the vehicle. What we have going now, just does not seem to work for us. Steering, brake lines and the front end is what we are currently working on. The team members for A71 include: Derek Ortmeier, Danny Hassler, John Thisby and Teddy Harms.
Team S70
February Report
This month we had to piece together our hood because we ran out of aluminum. We have been working with bondo a lot, to shape our car. We still are waiting on plexi-glass for our windshield. We made a shield to put over the axles to make it more aerodynamic. We are ordering new brakes and batteries for our car.
To raise money we made Valentine cookies so people can give them to their sweethearts. We also made benches and sold them. Both were good fund-raising events for us.
January Report
We have been spending most of our time working on brake and acceleration pedals. We moved the pedals backward from the origional position for easier handling. Next, we are going to be working on a new windshield for a more streamlined look. We changed our steering so it is stationary, yet can be adjusted. We want to change the cover for easier access. We spent last week on some of the wiring. Team members for S70 include: Justin LIndsay, Troy Polland, Phillip Kathol, Jake Brune, and Austin Widhelm.
