January
Before we started the Power Drive car we researched all different parts, thought about if we wanted to make one from scratch or to try to buy one, we looked at all different batteries, etc. We looked at different websites for safety features and more parts. This is the first year building a Power Drive car so we didn't make one from scratch. We didn't do the center of balance or stability control. We ordered a chassis from tsracing.com and made some modifications to it like adding an electric engine and adding a chain and sprocket. We also have the wiring done and all the nuts and bolts tightened up that need to be. A problem we ran into was that the throttle that we received did not work the motor so we ordered another one and are waiting for the new, and the batteries we ordered and the batteries we received were not the same batteries. Optima batteries shipped us the wrong ones so now we are waiting for the ones we actually ordered to come in. Also we have not started building the roll cage but plan to shortly. We are doing some mph testing but aren't finished with it yet so we will have the results in our next paper.
