As an Energy Star Partner, Omaha Public Power District is offering the following courses for professionals:

Residential Heating and Air Conditioning (Real Estate #0661) $35
Sept. 16, 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 3 CEU or PDH
Learn how heating and cooling products deliver home comfort.
• identify various types of equipment and learn how they work
• recognize a well-maintained system
• help customers improve the comfort level in their new home
• find a contractor you and your customer can trust
• know what an energy-efficient system looks like
• spot potential problems with heating and cooling equipment

Lighting Homes That Sell (Real Estate #0662) $35
Oct. 14, 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 3 CEU or PDH
Identify what makes a home both well-lit and energy-efficient.
This is a practical workshop with hands-on examples and demonstrations.

• energy-efficient lighting
• staging a home with lighting
• using lights for aesthetics, mood, sparkle, drawing attention, drama
• basic lighting design tips

Residential Building Science for (Real Estate #0630) $55
Nov. 12, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 6 CEU or PDH    
This one-day course will increase your knowledge and understanding of how a
home works as a system.
• how energy moves, is used and measured
• history of housing - past to present
• how a home works as a system
• barriers affecting a home - water, air and heat
• thermal components of a home, including insulation and air leakage
• today’s market and how homes are being assembled
• Energy Star home programs
