Petersburg Wind Project

Looking up at wind turbine

OPPD Will Buy Up to 40.5 MW of Generation from New Facility

A commissioning ceremony was held Oct. 31 on a 27-turbine wind farm near Petersburg, Neb., in Boone County. OPPD has an agreement with TPW Petersburg LLC to buy up to 40.5 MW of generation from the facility.

The Petersburg wind project is one of two large-scale wind farms commissioned in Nebraska this year.

The addition of Petersburg will bring OPPD to about 35% of its goal of having 10 percent of the electricity it sells to retail customers coming from renewable energy by 2020. OPPD also has contracts that will take it to about 54% of the goal by the end of 2012 or very early 2013.

Surge Protection

OPPD's Surge Guard Plus can help prevent damage to your electronic equipment. Even small surges can create minor damage that may go unnoticed but still shorten the life of your valuable equipment.
