 OPPD is offering performance contracting in conjunction with selected firms that have substantial experience in professional engineering and project performance success. If an OPPD commercial or industrial customer wants to upgrade its energy systems, performance contracting firms first conduct an energy review that determines where energy improvements are needed.
Then, depending on each project's needs, the firms will:
- Perform a detailed engineering analysis and determine guaranteed savings
- Design energy-saving measures for retrofits with reasonable paybacks
- Arrange project financing over a period of years with no up-front capital
- Install approved equipment using local contractors
- Commission the system
- Train operators
- Monitor energy savings
Performance contracting allows a business to complete a major facility upgrade within an existing budget - without any up-front investment - through guaranteed energy savings. The benefits are reduced costs, improved energy efficiency and reduction or elimination of maintenance and repair expenses.
