An IEEP Service Provider will provide to the customer and OPPD, an Energy Study identifying an IEEP that is projected to decrease energy usage (gas & electric) by at least 10% annually and reduce summer peak demand. The projected savings must utilize the IEEP program’s M&V guidelines. OPPD will review the projections as part of the preapproval process.
It is in the customer’s best interest to evaluate the following items, as a minimum, when choosing an IEEP Service Provider:
- Experience with HVAC system optimization work (including troubleshooting of HVAC and control systems)
- Sample reports or studies of past projects
- References (history of past projects)
- Responsiveness
- Reporting and communication skills
- Metering and monitoring techniques
In most cases, the services of a professional engineer (PE) should be retained for preparing studies and performing design work. If a provider lacks experience or skill in a certain area, that provider should be asked to partner with a firm that can provide the needed expertise.
Post project completion, the IEEP Service Provider will produce a savings report/case study showing energy saved and validated peak demand reduction. This report will be provided to the customer and to OPPD for review. The savings report/case study results will need to comply with the M&V requirements of the program.
OPPD will perform a final review of the savings and provide the customer an incentive based on actual IEEP results.
The IEEP Service Providers listed below have met the minimum requirements as described in a Request for Information for IEEP Service Providers and have attended program training.
