Closed Loops and Energy Diversion
OPPD Metering Services Dept. personnel and Customer Care field representatives have encountered a number of closed loops and energized unmetered sockets that are being used for either temporary or permanent energy use. While we understand the need to get your customer energy as soon as possible, there are other concerns, such as safety.
OPPD's policy requires all energy to be metered for correct billing. To avoid any misunderstanding, please be advised that OPPD will no longer allow sockets to be energized without a meter. When OPPD personnel discover an unmetered energized socket, they will contact the appropriate law enforcement agency.
We realize that there may be extenuating circumstances. In such cases, prior to energizing any unmetered socket, please call Metering Services at 552-5934, or contact the appropriate electric service design office with any questions or concerns.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
