Level Payment Plan

Because of weather and other factors, monthly electric service bills may vary widely throughout the year. With the Level Payment Plan, you know exactly how much your monthly payment will be.

OPPD offers the Level Payment Plan to qualified commercial customers on Rate Schedules 230 and 231. To qualify for the plan, payment on your account must be current. Commercial customers must have had an OPPD account for at least two years and must have an acceptable OPPD credit record.

How the plan works

• Each September, OPPD projects your usage for the next 12 months. The projection is based primarily on past usage.
• Using the projected usage and rate schedules, OPPD calculates your annual electric service bill. This calculated amount is used to establish your Level Payment, which becomes your monthly payment. OPPD will pay interest on any monthly credit balance. And your Level Payment is always calculated at net, never at gross.
• Each September, your account will be adjusted for any overpayment or underpayment resulting from this Level Payment Plan.

If your total payments during the year are less than the charges for your usage, your September bill will show the balance due. You can either pay the entire balance, or you can pay your Level Payment amount and have the remainder spread over your 12 Level Payments the following year.

If your monthly payments exceed the charges for your actual usage, you will receive a refund or a credit. OPPD will send you a refund check if the amount is $50 or more. If the amount is less than $50, OPPD will credit your account the following month.

Step 1:

Have your OPPD statement bill in hand. You will need your OPPD account number and your federal tax identification number.

Step 2:

• Using a touch-tone telephone, call (402) 536-4131, or toll-free 1-877-536-4131.
• Press 3 for account information, payment arrangements and payment plan information.
• Enter your OPPD account number (located on your OPPD statement bill) and your federal tax identification number.
• Press 3 for Level Payment Plan information
• Press 2 to enroll. The computer will tell you your monthly level payment amount, and then you press the pound sign (#).
