Who qualifies for a commercial rate?
OPPD’s General Commercial & Industrial Service Rates apply to all customers that do not qualify for residential rates. This would include commercial services, like stores, shops, billboards, etc. It also includes apartment common areas, apartment laundry facilities, separately metered garages, and cabins or boat houses without kitchen facilities. Generally, industrial customers have demands exceeding 1,000 kW, while commercial customers have demands less than 1,000 kW.
