January - Car S-104
In the month of January, car S-104 was under major construction, along with remodeling and narrowing the previous frame, welders (Matt Humlicek and Trevor Griffiths) put long hours into the new structure of what is to be car S-104. Also, steering and braking have come along way this year in Principles of Technology. The goal to design more advance components for better handling is evolving around the corner. The Determination will result in the best for all areas of the car. With electricity becoming a challenge, testing the car batteries with light bulbs turned out to be an excellent idea. Connecting four 65watt light bulbs with a couple amp meters to weaken the power of the battery was a long-term experiment. In the end we discover which battery had the most juice and which ones lasted longer. This month is very busy and we have various things to accomplish in the year of 2008.
February - Car S-104
In February, numerous tasks were completed. Frame work has transformed from a pile of aluminum rods to a structure body of S-104’s skeleton. It’s taken about three to four weeks to get everything together; Matt Humlicek has spent various class periods dedicating his time to finishing the frame. Once the frame is complete Bellyni Rodriguez and I plan to invite Rich Anderson with a few of his employers from Shell Valley Companies to create a carbonated-fiberglass nose cone. The canopy is also a task that we are brainstorming to succeed; ideas to mold and form the canopy are expanding. Brandon Smith is quiet busy with finances and buying essential parts to get the car going. Along with his help our achievements are becoming reality. . Tires and stirring have resulted to constructing and treading 155mm by 2.6mm spokes into a bare aluminum tire frame. Dusty Jazwick is in complete focus to succeed in that challenging project. Later after they have complete their work they plan to seek advice about balance and handling. Stirring has been creating an efficient device to stir and control the front axle wheel bearings. They have been successfully designing a new steering device to make the car less of a hassle to drive and less weight on the car. Brakes are quite a strain with figuring out. Ethan Mohrman has been studying and constructing brakes that will conduct pressure and activate the braking lights along with electrical it’s a challenge to progress with the frame still being transformed as well as Clayton Hoadley who has been working on hydraulic brakes. Trevor Griffiths has been working on the frame; while battery testing has come to a conclusion that brand new gel filled batteries will help us win the races. The Lakeview Power Drive team will have to buy eight batteries to get us through the year, but in the end it will be worth our time and struggles.

March - Car S-104
For the month of March, car S-104 has come a long way. We finished the structure and have attached the axle, wheels, motor and wiring. Electrical needs some work involving the battery connection and brake lights but with several tries we should get it working by our first race. Brakes on the other hand seem to require some new technology and creative thinking. It won’t cause a major issue as it has in the past. Concerning the brakes the hard work spent on re-spoking the wheels, look like it will pay off. With many struggles erupting toward the final days before the race, it seems that our hard work might pay of, we look forward and expect to have a great outcome this year. Wish us luck!
January - Car S-18 During the year of 2007 everyone was really busy. We have sent out several letters for donations, and there have been several that donated money and supplies. We had been talking about how to make the car better than last year by improving the steering, braking, and making it lighter and narrow. We have been also taking the car apart, then put back together by plastic tubing and tape. During the time we had a visitor from Platte College taught some student how to weld properly so we could weld our cars back together, and we hope that in 2008 we will improve on our cars.

February - Car S-18
In the month of February we have come along way successfully completing a whole bunch of tasks. The welders have been working hard on the frame so it is lightweight and it is just about done. Three people Tiffani Roelle, Bellyni Rodriguez, and Michael Harms went down to Shell Valley to see if they can make us a nose cone out of carbonated fiberglass, and with their help we may successfully get that done, and Rich Anderson and his teammate are coming down to Lakeview High School to take measurement so they can make it accurate so that way we will have the right measurements. Ethan Mohrman has been studying and constructing brakes that will conduct pressure and activate the braking lights along with electrical it’s a challenge to progress with the frame still being transformed. Stirring has been creating an efficient device to stir and control the axle wheel bearings. Battery testing has come to a conclusion that brand new gel filled batteries will help us win the races.
Brandon Lotspeich is putting a box into car S-18. Josh Ebke, Dusty Jazwick, and Matt Gall are working on respoking the rims. Brandon Asche is working on wiring the car. Nate Gdowski and Brett Luedtke are building frame so that we can finish up with it so we can take measurements in the nose cones, the canopy, the roll bar, and much more Matt Gall is replacing the brakes. Isaiah Tamez is bending the pipes. Pablo Maldonado is helping Brandon Smith respoking the rimes. Jennifer Martinez is working on the pictures. The Lakeview Power Drive team will have to buy eight new batteries. But in the end it will be worth our time and struggle. By: Jennifer Martinez

March - Car S-18
In the month of March car S18 has turned into quite a task. We finished welding the car and got the back roll bar put in. The battery box was embedded into the car to start working with electrical, and the seatbelts connected. So far we got the canopy done for the body. And we are still working on the outer plastic coating. Electrical needs some more work, but the battery and the brake light are in. The brakes have been a major challenge, and hopefully it will be done by time of the race. We race at Platte College in about a week and a half so hopefully we will reach our goals in completing the car. Our spirits are going for the gold.
