This year in our power drive class we have five students. They are Scott Horstmann, Chad Cronk, Ethan Wondercheck, Ethan DeKay, and Lucas Nelson.  Our goal this year is to take the “07” and “24” cars and make the necessary changes to compete in the advanced class.  We will be competing at Wayne for our first event of the season.  We would like to thank our first sponsor s for the year Horstmann Electric, Belik Insurance, Lazy T Tire, Pioneer Seed, Corner Bar & Grill, Hammer Insurance, R&K Feedlot, Schrader Farms, Raylnn’s Point of View, The Cheatums/Capture the Moment, Agricultural Services Inc. September 2007
After the Wayne State Rally, we headed back home to plan and start rebuilding on the “24” and “07” cars. On the “24” car we decided to change to a rack and pinion steering. Instead of a flat topped car, we decided a more round top to the car which we hope that will make it more aerodynamic. That is what led to making a new roll cage. We also lowered the height of the”24” car to make it more aerodynamic. We are also raising the front end of the “24” car for better ground clearance so the nose cone does not drag. On the “07” car we are planning to widen it for shoulder width and raise the front end so the nose cone does not drag. The body on the “07” car is going to look more aerodynamic. We would like to thank all the sponsors and Blarney Stone, Orchard Fertilizer Service, R’s Carryout, O’Neill Grain Co., Bank of Orchard, Garst seed- Gib Kelly, Royal One Stop, and Pinnacle Bank.

January 2008
After Christmas break, the teams are finally back and working on the cars.  The “24” car is finally starting to be assembled.  The back wheel is on and the team is busy putting the front axle together.  The roll cage on the “24” car is now rounded instead of straight.   Steering is also starting to go together.  The team bought a rack and pinion steering that will be put in very soon.   On the “07” car, the frame is now wider.  The roll cage on the “07” car is now wider to reach the wider frame.  They are currently working on getting the car ready for assembly.  We would like to thank our sponsors for the year.

February 2008
The “07” car has the axle and the wheels and tires are on.  Steering for the “07” car is going together quicker than expected.  There still is a lot to do before the car is race ready.  On the “24” car, the team is waiting on spindles for their car.  The controller is mounted along with the rear safety switch and the front axle is mounted.  We would like to thank all of our sponsors for the year.
