For the audit, you’ll need to know the cost of electricity and gas in your area. The average cost for residential OPPD customers is $0.067 per kilowatt-hour, well below the national average. Area natural gas costs are about $0.78 per therm. For exact rates, visit your natural gas utility’s website.

When considering energy improvements, it’s important to consider the advantages of installing a heat pump. Heat pumps help save energy and money by cooling your house in the summer and keeping it warm in the winter. Customers who install qualifying equipment receive Energy Credit Refunds and a special winter electric rate from OPPD. In addition, OPPD inspects new systems and verifies that they're operating efficiently and economically. (Click here to learn more about heat pumps.)
