Who qualifies for this rate?
This rate is available to supply electricity to irrigation pumping equipment to farms. Crop drying or grinding equipment may be included with the irrigation pump. Participation on this rate requires a minimum 5-year contract with OPPD.
How does this rate work?
This rate contains charges for the connected horsepower of the equipment instead of a demand charge. There is a direct conversion from horsepower to kW demand. This conversion allows the District to recover demand related costs through a horsepower charge.
Special Billing Procedure for Irrigation Services:
The annual horsepower charge bills in three installments in May, June and July each year. Energy charges are billed during the same month of consumption. Since there is no Basic Service Charge or Minimum Monthly Bill, it is common for irrigation services to have zero charges in months without irrigation requirements.
The Provisions of Rate Schedule No. 461 - Fuel and Purchased Power Adjustment apply to this schedule.
Miscellaneous Information:
This rate is subject to late payment charges
