Who qualifies for commercial surge guard?
Commercial surge guard is available to all commercial and industrial customers in the District’s service area.
Services Provided:
The District will install at the consumer’s place of business an arrester(s) that protect equipment down line from damaging surges.
The District warrants Consumer's electromechanical and electronic equipment, in the Consumer's place of business downline from a failed arrester(s) installed by the District, against damage up to a maximum of $1,500 per occurrence. The Consumer must provide proof of surge damage in writing from their insurance carrier or from an electronics repair company designated by the District.
Early Cancellation:
OPPD requires a 24-month contract period for commercial surge guard. The District may require payment for the remaining months of the contract for early cancellation.
