Energy Assistance Program
OPPD's Energy Assistance Program (EAP) was established in 1988 to help disadvantaged families pay energy-related expenses, primarily during the spring, summer and fall months. Such expenses might include higher-than-normal summer cooling bills or emergency equipment repairs. The program is administered by the American Red Cross Heartland Chapter, which screens applicants and distributes the funds.
Help Others, Support the EAP
Funds for EAP come from OPPD customer donations and advertising revenue from OPPD's monthly customer newsletter, Outlets. On average, well over 900 families receive assistance each year.
Customers who choose not to pledge on a monthly basis can still make periodic donations when paying their monthly bill. To donate, simply mark the appropriate box that appears on the OPPD bill and add your contribution to your payment.
Customers who would like to pledge a specific amount each month, or round up their bill, may do so by completing the Energy Assistance Pledge form.
Donations may also be sent directly to the American Red Cross Heartland Chapter at 2912 South 80 Avenue, Omaha, NE 68124.

OPPD Employees Race to Help

OPPD employees raised more than $13,000 for the Energy Assistance Program. OPPD senior management teams raced go-carts at the company's annual picnic, and OPPD employees bought tickets to support their favorite racer. The money raised will help the more than 900 families who receive assistance from the EAP each year.
