If you have an outdoor area that needs more lighting, you may wish to consider the OPPD Security Lighting Program.
- It's simple - you don't have to buy light fixtures, and you only pay for the electric service.
- OPPD furnishes, installs, owns and maintains the security light, which is mounted on a utility pole near your home.
- The lights will operate automatically each night from dusk to dawn.
Two types of lights are available:
- 100-watt, 7,200-lumen high pressure sodium
- 200-watt, 22,000-lumen high pressure sodium
OPPD will install a security light, for as low as $10.95 per month, plus tax and fuel and purchased power adjustment for the energy use of a 100-watt high-pressure sodium lamp, or $14.95 per month, plus tax and fuel and purchased power adjustment for the energy use of a 200-watt high-pressure sodium lamp.
Additional fees may apply if additional poles, wires, or transformers are needed to provide service to the dusk to dawn lighting. An OPPD representative will review each request for feasibility and provide cost and scheduling information.
