Mark Treinen was appointed to the OPPD Board of Directors by Governor Pete Ricketts in November 2017 to replace the late Rich Hurley.
Treinen retired from Valmont Industries in early 2015, having served as the president of North American Structures.
An Omaha native, Treinen graduated from Creighton University with a degree in accounting. He worked as a CPA for KPMG for approximately five years after college, before joining Valmont, where he worked for more than 33 years.
He currently serves on the boards of:
~ Lester Electrical
~ St. Roberts Foundation Board
~ Youth Emergency Services (Trustee)
His prior community involvement includes the boards of Catholic Charities of Omaha, Catholic Charities of Omaha Foundation, Marian High School, Youth Emergency Services and Roncalli High School.
Treinen and his wife, Ursula, reside in west Omaha and have six children and seven grandchildren.
