In January, the Omaha Public Power District Board of Directors held its first monthly meeting at 4 p.m. Starting this month, the board will have a new committee meeting schedule, as well.
February’s board committee meeting will be held this Thursday, Feb. 16 at 10 a.m., in advance of the 4 p.m. board meeting the same day. Both meetings will continue to be held at those times on the same day moving forward. Like monthly board meetings, committee meetings are open to the public. They are held at Energy Plaza’s 9 West Seminar Room, 444 S. 16th St., Omaha. Monthly board meetings are held in the Energy Plaza Auditorium at the same address.
At board committee meetings, directors listen to presentations related to the monthly agenda and have more in-depth discussions on items that will be up for vote at the board meeting. They may also discuss items that are for board review only.
Both of these meetings will continue to be streamed live at oppd.com. While board meetings have been streamed live since September 2015, last month was the first time the committee meeting also was streamed live.
These changes are aimed at making meetings more accessible to the public. Prior to a recent meeting pilot program, committee meetings were held at 8:30 a.m. two days ahead of the monthly board meeting.
Meetings are typically held the first Thursday after the 10th of each month, unless otherwise noted. You can view the entire 2017 schedule at oppd.com/boardmeeting.
