Following a three-month pilot program, the Omaha Public Power District Board of Directors’ monthly meeting will be held at a new time. The regular monthly board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 12. Starting on that day, the new meeting time will be 4 p.m.
The board voted in December to approve the time change going forward, with a goal of making meetings more accessible to more members of the public.
Meetings are typically held the first Thursday after the 10th of each month, unless otherwise noted, at Energy Plaza, 444 S. 16th St., Omaha.
Board committee meetings are also open to the public. At these meetings, directors listen to presentations related to the monthly agenda and have more in-depth discussions on items that will be up for vote at the board meeting, as well as discuss items that are for board review only.
Directors have not yet determined a regular committee meeting time. However, for this month, the committee meeting will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, the same day as the regular monthly meeting. The committee meeting will be held in the 9 West Seminar Room of Energy Plaza, and it will also be streamed live for the first time at oppd.com. Regular board meetings have been streamed since September 2015.
At December’s meeting, directors also approved the full 2017 board meeting schedule. You can view it at oppd.com/boardmeeting.
