Academy of Sustainable Environments & Renewable Resources

This program focuses on the growing need to promote green building
practices, technologies, policies and standards, to build an environmentally responsible, economically profitable and healthy future for the region. Students will experience interactive workshops, hands-on demonstrations in state-of-the-art labs, and tours of LEED Certified buildings.
Students will leave with a better understanding of how sustainability is applied in the real world and what career opportunities they can pursue.
The academy is hosted by OPPD and the Peter Kiewit Institute, and is for junior and senior high school students. Students must be able to provide their own transportation. Selection criterion is based on academic achievement, as well as extracurricular involvement and leadership experience.
