Who is SLWA?

Utility Service Partner Private Label, Inc., known as Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA), with corporate offices located at 11 Grandview Circle, Suite 100, Canonsburg, PA 15317, is an independent company separate from OPPD and offers this optional service plan as an authorized representative of the service contract provider, North American Warranty, Inc., 175 West Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60604. Your choice of whether to participate in this service plan will not affect the price, availability or terms of service from OPPD.

Can I sign up for the program if I live in an apartment or rental home?

Apartment building renters cannot sign up for the ELP service. Property owners with home rentals may sign up for the service for their renters. Please reach out to your proprietor to have them contact OPPD to sign up for the service. Duplexes are covered but both individual units must have their own policy.

Do I need ELP if I have homeowners insurance?

Please check with your insurance agent to determine if in-home electrical lines and related materials are part of your Home Owners insurance coverage. If covered, you may also want to consider the amount of the deductible you pay for any claim (often $500, $1,000 or more). Under ELP, there is zero out-of-pocket for a covered service; you only pay the monthly fee and the service covers up to $1,500 per repair visit.

When does my Electric Line Plan start?

The Program coverage starts 30 days after signup.

How will I be billed for my coverage?

Your monthly fee will appear on your monthly OPPD statement.

What do I do if I need a repair?

Simply call the 24-hour hotline number at 1-866-277-3706. A local licensed repair professional will be sent to your home for the covered repair.

What items are excluded from ELP coverage?

Repairs to any wiring that is connected to or part of any low voltage system; appliances; resetting of circuit breakers or system controls; repairs consisting of knob and tube wiring, aluminum, or other non-standard/non-permanent materials; failure arising from the disconnection from or interruption to the main electrical supply; non-standard wall switches; remote control outlets; service entrance conductors; any fixture that must be plugged into an electrical outlet; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. Detached garage not covered. Attached garage door system excluded. See Terms and Conditions for additional information.

Is this a long-term commitment?

You may continue your plan as long as you like. Unless you cancel, your plan will automatically renew annually. You may cancel at any time by calling OPPD at 402-536-4131 in Omaha or 1-877-536-4131 outside the metro, or SLWA at 1-866-277-3706.

Who cleans up the mess?

The certified contractor will do a general cleanup of the area affected.
