It’s here—we’re hard at work exchanging our customers’ older meter models with smart meters. The new industry standard for utilities nationwide, smart meters allow you to take charge of your energy with tools that help you track usage and stay informed.

If you have an account manager or senior account manager, they will reach out with more details as your exchange window approaches.

If you do not have an account manager, we’ll provide more information to your billing address in the weeks leading up to your equipment exchange.

Project timeline

In late 2025, we will be soft launching new meters to a small group of customers, followed by full deployment to all customers by the end of 2028. All customers can expect to receive direct communications from OPPD starting 90 days before your expected installation date.
