It’s here—we’re hard at work exchanging our customers’ older meter models with new meters. The new industry standard for utilities nationwide, modern meters allow you to take charge of your energy with tools that help you track usage and stay informed.

If our technicians were unable to complete your meter exchange, please call 531-226-5909 once you’ve resolved the issue(s) preventing the installation. If we are unable to answer your call, leave a voicemail with your name, contact information and a convenient call-back time. We’ll get back to you by the end of the next business day.
If the technician indicated you need to make repairs to complete your exchange, please contact a local accredited electrical contractor to perform the work for you.
Project timeline
OPPD completed a soft launch for approximately 10,000 customers in 2025. In 2026, we're making more upgrades across our service area to support the larger modern meter ecosystem. Wider installation will begin January 2027, upgrading around 22,000 customer meters a month. We expect to have all meters updated by end of 2028.
