OPPD is upgrading our transmission and distribution systems in Bellevue to create more resilience and reliability for the community and to pave the way for significant growth. OPPD plans to rebuild transmission, upgrade or expand five substations and build one new substation in the eastern and southern parts of Bellevue to support community growth and reliability.

Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth

  • Timed 5K run, timed 10K, untimed 2-mile walk and a virtual run/walk
  • Aksarben Village or virtual participation
  • 5K & 10K begin at 9 a.m. with the walk to immediately follow

Omaha Public Power District and Metropolitan Utilities District team up to host this annual event, with proceeds benefiting local utility assistance programs to help friends, family and neighbors in our communities pay their utility bills. The event is hosted in the cold winter months to bring attention to those who struggle to keep the lights on and heat their homes. However, utility assistance is a year-round need. Funds raised are administered by Dollar Energy Fund, Inc., a registered 501(c)3, and then split between OPPD’s Energy Assistance Program and M.U.D.’s Home Fund to provide local assistance to those in need.

Integrated System Plan (ISP) Virtual Workshop #1

OPPD's Integrated System Plan (ISP) is a vital step in our continual planning process to guide us as we make long-term system plans. Like most utilities, OPPD engages in ongoing system planning, with an intentional focus on publishing an update to our resource and system strategies every five years. The update also meets a regulatory requirement set by Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) as part of a long-term contract to receive hydroelectric power.

In early 2026, OPPD will begin its ISP engagement process, with a final report submitted to WAPA by the end of the year. This initial workshop will introduce the ISP process and your role as a customer-owner. Learn more and pre-register for the workshop at oppdcommunityconnect.com/ISP.
