Important Update: Solar Tax Credit Ending Soon

The 30% Federal Solar Tax Credit (Section 25D) is set to expire on December 31, 2025. To qualify, homeowners must have their solar systems fully installed by that date—not just purchased or scheduled.

As the deadline approaches, demand for solar installations is surging, leading to a rush in bookings and potential delays. Unfortunately, this high demand has also attracted malicious or untrustworthy solar installers looking to take advantage of the urgency.

What You Should Do:

  • Start early by connecting with an OPPD-approved Solar Trade Ally to ensure a smooth installation process.
  • Choose wisely by verifying credentials and reading reviews—OPPD Trade Allies meet specific quality and service standards.
  • Stay informed and avoid high-pressure sales tactics or offers that seem too good to be true—working with a trusted Trade Ally helps protect your investment.

Enjoy $2,000 in solar rebates

Solar installation is a long-term investment that lowers your electricity costs and reduces your greenhouse gas emissions. To support your path towards a solar upgrade, we’re offering a one-time $2,000 rebate for customers who install a qualifying solar system through an eligible Trade Ally.

OPPD is here to answer questions and help get you started. From finding an OPPD Trade Ally to putting your check in the mail, we’ll guide you every step of the way.

█  SOLD OUT – This rebate is no longer available.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Contact an OPPD Trade Ally to determine if installing a solar energy system is right for you.
  2. Your Trade Ally submits an application for your equipment before installation.
  3. After the system is approved for construction, your Trade Ally applies on your behalf — you don’t need to worry about any rebate paperwork.
  4. OPPD reviews your rebate application. If your system meets the requirements, the application is preapproved for payment.
  5. Rebate funds are then reserved for 120 days while the system is installed.
  6. The Trade Ally provides OPPD with a dated and itemized invoice for the system within 30 days of project completion.
  7. Your rebate check arrives in the mail!

To be eligible for a solar rebate, you must:

  1. Install a qualifying system using a Solar/COG Trade Ally. See the Solar Rebates Terms and Conditions for requirements of a qualifying system.
  2. Submit your interconnection application on or after January 1, 2023.
  3. Be an OPPD customer with good standing account(s).
  4. Have not received a solar rebate for the same address within the current calendar year.
  5. Agree to the OPPD Solar Rebates Terms and Conditions.
